So S tells me I must blog more often. Didn't think anyone read my blog, but I don't really tell people about it. I'm pretty boring. I don't even like reading my own stuff.
Been busy with N and C's wedding! Last night was the menhdi party. The artist was very good. I loved every single one of her designs. I was worried that the paste would irritate my skin. I got it done on one palm and it felt really good - nice and cool, and then on the wrist and back of my other hand. Because the backs of my hands are a little inflammed, it started to tingle a little after 10 minutes, but no worse than putting on moisturizer does. The mixture is made up of mostly oils and herbs. Anyway, the design mostly came off of the back of my hand, because my skin peels a lot as it is trying to heal, but it is very soft where the henna was! The wrist band design came out the clearest because it was on good skin. The design on my palm is not bad, a little uneven, but mostly dark, blurredand smeared in some areas and clear in others. The paste tends to settle into the cracks, causing a dark streak, and then skin has flaked off other spots causing light spot.
N gave us some links to information before the party:
Good general info at indianweddings.ca
FAQs
More general info, including links to designs
CBC Radio was there to do some interviews for a show on multicultural weddings. N and S make very good interviewees...I was interviewed about my Bhangra dancing...not so good. It's going to air at 7:45am on Wednesday, February 12. I think that's the morning show with Shelagh Rogers.
Hopefully I'll write more later, to fill in stuff about the bridal shower, stagette, Jack-n-Jill stag, shopping for our outfits, etc.
