N&C's Wedding
N&C's wedding on Saturday was just perfect! Nice weather, etc, etc. The gurdwara on No. 5 road is also nicer than the one off of Boundary Rd that their "first" wedding/dress rehearsal was at. It was nice and sunny for the pictures but frickin' cold! It was so cold that N was cracking jokes the whole time to keep her mind off the cold.
The food at the Hyatt was really good, but I didn't too much, well not as much as a I normally can. :D (People at work think I have a tapeworm -- I call him Tapey, he's my friend.) It was nice to have a wedding with a small group of people (under 100). Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to talk to a lot of people I hadn't seen in a long time. I liked the bhangra dancing, but I wish that the English music that was played was a little more...modern. I guess I could have made a request...(OK, no real complaints, but I am really sick of the songs "Celebration" and "What is Love."
The one thing that went wrong was Nancy was on time, but other people caused us to run late! e.g. The makeup/hair person was half hour late (she got lost and went up the wrong tower), so we were half hour late for the ceremony, which really upset Nancy because a) she didn't not want to be late for her own wedding and b) it is supposed to be good luck for the ceremony to be finished by noon. I guess it was a little our fault too because neither M nor myself were ready to go when the makeup/hair people arrived. I guess we were just waiting on each other and didn't really talk about who would go first. I was pretty from lack of sleep the whole week. Don't know if I made any sense to the people I talked to.
The hotel room (the Discovery Suite) was huge! We got to stay there Friday and Saturday night (too keep N&C awake because they were leaving at 4-5am for their honeymoon.) N has a couple of very ...interesting...cousins, but that is another story. I haven't seen her younger brother, N, for almost 10 years, and I'll add he's turned out very well.
