Cerise Creek
Skiing it was, and what a gorgeous weekend it was. It was my first backcountry ski trip, and only my 3rd time on telemark skis. We went to Cerise Creek, just past Pemberton. It snowed for most of the brisk 2.5 hr ski in, and we got to Keith's Hut late in the afternoon, and found only 6 others there. The site is just stunning. Out the front door, there is a view of Anniversary Glacier, Mount Joffre and Mount Matier. A little down the path, and you can also see Vantage Peak.
The next morning was sunny with a veil-like cloud cover. We skinned part way up Joffre and did one run.

The new issue of Knitty is out!
--
Ah, the long weekend!
Shall I go skiing -- it is currently snowing on Cypress. I can almost be guaranteed fresh tracks tomorrow. Whistler is looking good too.
Or maybe I'll do some gardening? Or dust off the mountain bike and practice my skills on the lower loops of Burnaby Mountain, then bike up the hill for some good cardio as SunRun cross training? Or tele over to Cerise Creek? Take in the colourful Vaisakhi Parade on Saturday?
What to do?
