Something's Happening

Today is the 10th anniversary of the opening of Expo 86. After work, I walked down to the Plaza of Nations where the city put on a little celebration. As I approached the site, I could here the theme song playing, and after all these years, I can sill remember most of the lyrics:
Set the world in motion
Together we can catch a rising star
We can touch tomorrow,
Discover the wonder in our hearts

Man, those lyrics didn't sound so cheesy when I was 12.

The admission was $25, so I just stood outside the fence to watch. It was a little disappointing - I thought the city should have made it a bit more accessible than that. Yeah, they did have meet Expo Ernie at City Hall, but that was during the day, so only those that didn't have to work or go to school could go. Anyway, I got to watch Expo Ernie interact with people -- back then, I was just at the Age of Unbelieving, but now, I have admit Expo Ernie is pretty cool.
